Getting through Quarantine with Femme Luxe!*

Well... here's a situation we never thought we'd be in. The whole world is basically under lockdown and I can't be the only one struggling. I had fun the first couple of weeks, but now I'm more than ready to get back to work (I know, I never thought I'd say those words).

Today is day 60 of lockdown and whilst my penchant for spending has decreased significantly, I have been getting a few items to keep me going. Needless to say, trying to save money for when 'the outside' is open again is a harder task than I first thought. So imagine my joy when Femme Luxe contacted me recently to talk about a collaboration! This honestly couldn't have come at a better time since I am slowly losing my mind in lockdown. I have found solace in creating wishlists on many of my favourite websites that I'm forcing myself not to buy, but this way I can still try and review new clothes without spending a penny. WIN-WIN! I also got to go outside for reasons other than essential shopping and my one form of exercise a day to actually have a little fun!

I haven't shopped at Femme Luxe before, so an opportunity to try a new store is always exciting. This collab also allows me to brush the metaphorical cobwebs off my fingers and get typing again, especially about clothes and fashion trends which I haven't done in a little while or fashion trends in a little while. Let's get into it!

Neriah wearing the Femme Luxe Sofie Wine Ruched Cowl Neck Bodycon Mini Dress

Now the first piece to catch my eye was the Wine Ruched Cowl Neck Bodycon Mini Dress. This is the first ruched piece of clothing I've owned and I was not disappointed. I love a good body-hugging dress, but the cowl neck and the ruching takes this dress from simple to classy AF. Personally, I think it's the perfect dress for any summer event as the material isn't heavy at all.

Neriah wearing the Maeve Black Satin Ruched Side Slip Mini Dress

Let me just say I LOVE the asymmetry on the Black Satin Ruched Side Slip Mini Dress! The satin material is very comfortable and a couple of my mates even said I could wear it as lingerie *wink*. Satin is in trend right now with is a BONUS. When I tell you that the first cocktail night with my friends after quarantine will be in this dress, please believe me! The only cons are that for a size 10, it is slightly too big and I'm very unsure if I can iron it.

Neriah wearing the Mak Wine Slinky Ruched Strapless Mini Dress

Most little girls dream of being a mermaid and they grow out of it. I have not. This Wine Slinky Ruched Strapless Mini Dress has allowed me to achieve my dream and I'm not the least bit upset. It is also a little too big, but nothing a bit of fashion tape won't fix. My stomach looks FLAT and that's all I can really wish for in lockdown.

Neriah wearing the Amy Black PU Corset Top

Now the Black PU Corset Top is probably my favourite piece. It fit sooo snugly and I didn't feel like I couldn't breathe, which was unexpected. What I love about this top is that it can be dressed up or down. I went through about 5 different potential outfits to showcase the corset top before I settled on this dressed up version. To dress this 'fit down, you can swap the heels for converses and throw on a checked shirt!

I did order one last LBD, but it didn't arrive for reasons I can't speculate. Ahh well, I won't die.

Final Remarks

My experience was largely positive. I really enjoyed trying on these Femme Luxe items. The delivery was well packaged and  very quick, despite lockdown. Every piece was of a high standard, save for a few fray strings I had to cut off here and there, but overall, I was happy with the pieces I received and was delighted by the professional service. I hope to work with them again in the near future!

*Femme Luxe sent me the clothes to review, but all opinions are my own. All photos are the property of mylifeinatab.
